I’ve been discussing with the wife for the past month about us getting bikes and riding down at the beach this summer as a family. In addition to being fun, it will keep us fit and in shape and tan as well!

As the middle of last week rolled around, my better half made the comment that we don’t have any plans for the upcoming memorial day weekend. With things being tight right now, we didn’t have many options to jump on immediately. She then asked me “How’s the bike idea coming?” I had to confess that I hadn’t done a darn thing yet…

I knew I immediately had to shift things into gear and get this started and done with.

First, I made a mad dash to the local bike shop and picked up some street tires for my mountain bike, degreaser, citrus oil for the chains and a bike rack to put on the back of the SUV.

After that, I sped on over to the sporting goods store to try to find some kind of tow or trailer so we could take the little one with us. The only thing they had was a trailer to tow along for a small toddler for 200.00. Scratch that!

I ran home and got on line and started searching around. I came across this tow bar at: http://www.trail-gator.com

Now the issue was that I knew what I wanted but, how do I get it in time for the upcoming holiday weekend?

I started dialing bike shops and no body carried anything like this. I decided I would call a few more and finally found one that had one of these…the last one in stock. I ended up paying 50.00 more for it than if I had bought it online and waited…or well, it’s only moolah right?

I’m still stoked!!!
